Peas Pulao

This is such an easy and delicious recipe. Have someone drop by and you need to whip something together quick? Or in a time crunch but want something DELICIOUS? This. Is. It.

In all honesty, I was doing really well on my diet. I had made it several days without cheating. I’m not even a huge fan of rice. But when I made this, it all changed and I immediately wanted to eat it. My tastebuds got the best of me and I cheated. IT WAS SO WORTH IT.

 2 cups white rice, washed and drained
 1 cup peas
 ½ cup fried onions
 salt, to taste
 ½ tsp cumin
 3 cinnamon sticks, broken into small pieces
 3 cardamom pods
 ¼ cup oil

Turn instant pot on saute mode.

Once the screen says HOT, add oil.

Add peas, spices and onions to the oil and saute for 1 minutes until all ingredients are mixed well and soft.

Add rice and mix well.

Add enough water to cover the rice.

Turn off saute mode and turn on rice mode. Let pressure release naturally.

Serve warm!
